Body expression - Daniel Salvador

  1. I chose a video about how to dance Sevillanas because it represents an important part of Spanish culture and tradition. Sevillanas is not only a dance, but also a way to express joy, emotion, and connection with others. By watching this video, I can better understand the steps, rhythm, and meaning behind each movement. I like it because the music is lively and cheerful, and the dance allows people to communicate through body language and coordinated movements. It also brings people together during festivals and celebrations, especially at the Feria de Abril. I enjoy how elegant and expressive the dance looks, with the colorful dresses and confident posture. Learning Sevillanas helps me feel closer to my cultural roots and appreciate the artistic traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation.

    1. Your justification is strong and well connected to Body Expression because you explain Sevillanas as more than “steps”: it’s a cultural language that transmits joy, emotion, and social connection. You include good examples of what you learn from the video (rhythm, meaning of movements, coordinated interaction), and you link it to real contexts like festivals (Feria de Abril), which adds academic depth. To improve even more, add 1–2 specific body-expression elements from our unit—space (formations/distance with a partner), time (rhythm patterns), and energy (sharp vs soft arm/hand movements)—and explain how they communicate the tradition and mood. Overall, it’s a thoughtful, culturally grounded justification with clear learning value.
